Yes, Works just fine (at least with Linux).
I set up a machine with two 2940 flavor cards.

This will also work, although you might want to replace the 14xx ISA card
with a narrow 2940 card. The only gotcha is that you'll need to be sure to
allocate the IRQ for the ISA card in your BIOS settings. Replacing it
with a PCI card (2940) would be better.

What good will that do him when he is using Windows, Heller?

Good for you Heller, and what exactly has that got to do with his specific
question?

And why is that, Heller?
And what 14xx series adapter and 24xx series card are we speaking
of specifically since Adaptec appears to have no recollection of any?

Better how, Heller?

Good comment folkert, and what exactly had that got to do with his
specific question?

Many vintage SCSI scanners
can operate with a newer PCI
card -- my ancient HP came
with its own ISA SCSI card
and now works fine with my
current, relatively modern
PCI HDA. It's usually just a
matter of what the driver
package for your OS supports
-- HP's installer as an
option to use either generic
SCSI (perhaps via ASPI) or
the old HP-suppied ISA card.

If drivers for both cards
are available and there's
no resource conflict (this
may require some jumper or
DIPswitch adustment on the
older ISA cards), there's
no reason they can't
coexist in the same box
under Win98SE.

You mean 29xx card (PCI), don't you?
It's important to keep in style when you are trolling.

Like that win98se wouldn't have the driver for it.

No, really?

Right, so now you can dump your (non)existing 14xx (note the importance
of the xx) series *adapter*, and 24xx (note the importance of the xx)
series *card*.

Please note the overall unimportance of folkert's posts.
