SOS - SCSI Long Erase and Short Erase when erasing tape media

Hi,

Could some one please tell me if SCSI command ERASE (0x19) is used for
both SCSI Long Erase and Short Erase when erasing tape media with a
backup application such as NetBackup?

There is also an ERASE(16) [0x93] and the optional FORMAT MEDIUM [0x04]
command.
