I'm looking at installing two scsi drives for my OS/GAMES but I don't
next to nothing about SCSI.
I have two 146 GB 15k RPM Fujitsu MAX3147NC ultra320 80 pin drives. I
guess I will need to find a 80 to 68 pin adapter and a controller card
and probably do RAID 0. Spending a few hundread bucks is out of the
question, is there a fairly cheap solution for this configuration?

there is a simple solution. Buy a big sata disk. If you can't spend money,
don't use SCSI.

Makes complete sense, only thing is that I have two of those drives
now. Just if there is an economic solution for my situation. Thanks
for the comments tho.

sell them to somebody who needs SCA drives.
146GB 15k drives are still current devices, and have value.

Just get an Adaptec 29160[N] with cable on ebay, and a pair of LVD SCA adapters.
Each order should be around $20. You won't do better than 120MB/s with any PCI device.
If you wanted high performance, you should have got a PCI-e SAS adapter and disks.

Those are server drives; you may find them very noisy in a desktop
system, and they will need good cooling.

and a cable with terminator, and additional cooling. You're looking at
spending $100+. Since you don't say whether you want to use PCI or
PCIe, I can't suggest a card.

Sell the drives on ebay and use the money to buy a WD Raptor for your
boot drive and games, and buy some beers with the change.

All SCSI is server equipment.
I've got a 10K Seagate 74G on this desktop, no extra cooling.
Also a 250G SATA which I use for backing up the SCSI and storing video
etc on.
Go the ebay way for the controller and converters (and terminator?).
Look for a Adaptec 160 card, don't bother with RAID unless you are going
to buy a stack of expensive hardware.
