Default SCSI hard drives not seen in my comp - if this group is dead couldsomeone point me to a group that can assist?

I'm hoping someone can help me here...
HP Pavilion D4100E using XP Pro

I got a popup error the other day:
Array Management Service: Array 1, Disk SAMSUNGSP1614C (Ch.1, id0)
Disk Media Error at LBA 0 cmd=0x20 status=0x51
Close this popup window and then open Array Manager to resolve the
issue.

Nothing in Array Manager indicated an issue.
Rebooting really ******* me up as now it won't boot into windows at
all. It gets to the XP splash and just sits and spins a while until
it reboots on its own again.
I slaved an IDE HD to the DVD and did the HP XP restore to it.
Device Manager sees: Promise 2+0 Stripe/RAID0 SCSI Disk Device under
Disk Drives
Device Manager also sees Win XP Promise Fastrak S150 TX2 Controller
under controllers
Array Manager sees both SCSI drives
Disk Management only sees the IDE and DVD drive

I tried changing the IDE cable from port 1 to 0 - didn't figure it
would matter but I was in there anyway
I also unplugged and reconnected the SCSI cables
I also unplugged the IDE drive and rebooted to the SCSI to be sure I
wasn't excessively daft and reimaged the SCSI drives instead of the
IDE accidentally

So XP sees the drives but won't let me at them.... any help would be
really appreciated.
