Default Problem in booting

The booting process is not happending when I try to switch on the
power switch of my PC.
At certain times, the PC fan gets started and sudently it stops.

Can any one help me out in knowing what could be the problem or
atleast how I have to proceed to find out the problem ?

- Thanks in Advance.

Much more info would be helpful!! Try another PSU, if no change, disconnect
everything except memory and video card and CPU & heatsink and test.

Thanks mike.. I will try it out..

I consulted a dealer regarding this issue... He tested by
disconnecting and then reconnecting, and informed that the problem
could be in the RAM. The RAM used in the PC was neither the SD RAM nor
the DDR RAM. He informed that the RAM is an old one and the it is not
available in the market right now.

He asked to find for a similar RAM from an old PC, so that the exact
cause of the problem can be found out.

You have given no info on motherboard, but if it is using RAMBUS memory,
this can be found on Ebay. You need a pair to work. If your motherboard is
at fault, either obtain areplacement motherboard which supports your CPU,
but does NOT need RAMBUS, or scrap it and buy a replacement system unit.
