Default looking for hd u160

Goodmorning,
we have a server with a accelraid 352 (Mylex, now LSI) scsi card
We don't have hard disk on this matchine, and we are looking for them.
We have find only u320, but not u160, that is specified for that card.
Any suggestions ?

thanks

Andrea

Do some basic research and discover that U320 is backwards compatible and can be
used on U160 adapters?

Then obviously you're not looking very well when there are plenty around on Ebay.

And where exactly does it say that?

Like checking the SCSI FAQ that is regularly posted here.

Though in fairness it's not the easiest to find
http://scsifaq.sitemux.net/scsifaq.html#Generic101

It could use a good overhaul.

Or better, that all SCSI is upwards and backwards compatible except
for High Voltage Differential, which is only compatible with itself.

Thanks to all,
i found the answer in the FAQ. It's possible.
My doubt is the lsi's answer to my question:

"Since AcceleRAID is a U160 RAID controller, U320 hard drives are not
supported. They may work, but we would not recommend using them."

I suggest you toss the AcceleRAID in the garbage, as it does not support SCSI.

Sounds like a CYA comment. Maybe U320 drives were just being developed
at the time they wrote that and since they hadn't tested any of them
thought it safest to dissuade people from using them. But all U320
drives should be able to put themselves in U160 mode and operate fine
with that controller.
