I checked the cables and, the jumpers(presently set to SCSI ID#0), to
make sure the drive(Fujitsu 147GB U320 desktop HD w/ 68-pin female
connector) was properly secured to the cable(new 6-connector U320 68-
pin male/male). No pins are broken or, bent.
Could the jumper settings, determine the size of the drive?
I have tried to get a hold of Fujitsu Computer Products of America
but, I just get put on hold forever.

You may want to use SCSI Utility For Windows to determine the true size.
After installing, send a READ CAPACITY to the drive to determine it's true
size.

No it won't. Not necessarily.
It will report any capacity the drive has been set to.
