scanning software - what's good?

HI Can anyone recommend a good scaning software. It seems to me that
he software is as important as the scanner. Other than the software
which comes as the bundle, what's a good alternative?

works with over 700 different scanners - certainly MUCH better than HP
scanning software.

You can download a trial version and try it before purchasing.

Well, hell, there really ain't no credible standalone stuff out there
but VueScan and Silverfast.
