Default Scanner not recognizing OCR software

I have a Canon PIXMA MP450 which came with an old version of ScanSoft
Omnipage software. I deleted the Omnipage and installed Omnipage Pro
14. I set it up with the scanner and it recognizes it. But when I
scan and "save as print file", I get an error message that the old
software is not there. I have looked all over for a way to tell the
scanner to use the new Omnipage software but can't find it. Any help
very welcome!

Do you have the CanoScan Toolbox installed?

If so, run the Toolbox (scanner must be turned on) and click The OCR button,
down at the bottom of the window, there is a place to add an external
program, add your OmniPage 14 executable here.

Click the set button and navigate to your Omnipage 14 program.

Mine is located here:
C:\Program Files\ScanSoft\OmniPage15.0\OmniPage.exe

I have OmniPage 15.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I'm afraid I don't have
the Canoscan Toolbox - in fact, that is the first I have heard of
it.

I have found a solution of sorts. I had always scanned by starting
with the scanner MP Navigator and then gone from there into Omnipage.
I found I can scan from Omnipage 14 without opening the scanner
program. Strange that it works from Omnipage to scanner but not
scanner to Omnipage!

CanoScan Toolbox is located on the Scanner install CD. I believe there is a
option to install or not install Toolbox
