Default Recommendation for office document scanner please

Hello,

We need a good document scanner for our branch office. We currently fax
documents to the home office several times a day but they now want
everything sent in digital form. So we'll need to scan and email documents
throughout the day. These will be both letter and legal size (sometimes
multipage documents) as well as various oddball forms, certificates,
membership cards, etc. I think ease of use is very important so we can get
this material into an emailable form (PDF format?) as easily, and with as
little intervention, as possible. Does anyone have any recommendations or
where to research this?

Thanks,
Teri

We have a similar challenge with medical records going totally
digital. The name that comes up when talking scanners is Fujitsu,
seems they are expensive, fast, accurate and doesn't choke on odd
sized docs.. You would also need Adobe Acrobat for making the .pdf
files. We haven't gotten to which model is best, I would find a dealer
in your area.

The Fujitsu ScanSnap S510 is excellent and includes Adobe Acrobat.
Works great. I used a Xerox document scanner in the past and had
nothing but trouble with it.
