I have an Epson scanner 1240U with a film adaptor EU-33. This one is
connected to the scanner by a 8-pins mini-DIN connector, like this one
you can see here :
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini-DIN_connector>
(6th picture).
I would like supply the adaptor without the scanner.
Does somebody knows the pin-out of this connector ?

?
I've got one.
Actually it's not mine. A friend lent me it. But I have to give him back
the scanner. I would use the film adaptor as a light table and
photographing my slides with my digital camera. So I have to power
supply the FA, but I don't know the pinout of the connector, and I
wouldn't damage the FA of my friend.

Doesn't the light scan in sequence with the scanning elements? If it
does would be hard to photograph. I wouldn't go for one of the cheap
slide duplicators, the best reasonably priced way to digitize slides
is with a macro lens, even one that only goes to a 1:2 magnification
(1/2 size on the sensor) is enogh to get a good duplication. A small
light table is sufficient for a light source, remember to mask outside
the slide. Another option is to get a real slide duplicator, these are
pro level machines that have a rigid connection with the camera and
the slide. Noticed a couple of Bessler units on Ebay (these are very
heavy).

No, it doesn't scan. It's like a light table. And the light is very
homogen

It works for photographiing

Yes. But see my answer to CSM1.
I'm still waiting for pinout of the EU-33.
Thanks a lot for your answer.

Could these or others like these be quick enough: http://www.nationwidedrafting.com/st...ortatrace.html
Just another thought.

In my manual the socket you plug into is called the "option connector".
It connects the Film Adaptor and the Documentt Feeder.

I can't help you with the pin out but as a quick solution, are
you using an LCD monitor? If not, do you have a laptop or can you
borrow one? If so, open up a blank document so that the entire screen
is white, then tilt the screen back so that it's facing towards the
ceiling. This makes a nice white background and should do what you
need it to do. Sorry if this doesn't help.
