Hi Greg...

Don't have a 1670, but assuming it's close to the same as my 3200, just
a coupla thoughts to get us started...

Does it successfully scan reflective things?

If so, you say you see the lid light on... do you mean you see the
blue indicator on, or can you open the lid and actually see it lit up?
(you wouldn't be the first to try using it without removing the white
foamy'ish cover

If so, are you putting the transparency holder in the right position
on the bed? (upper right corner)

If so, are you pre-scanning, and then taking a look at the histogram
and getting it at least close enough to see something?

Let us know.

Ken

not colour. Then i noticed the epson scan software gives a choice of
24bit or 48 bit colour. The 256DDR geforce card only has either16 or 32
bit colour choice. I dont know if that makes a difference or not, havent
had a chance to explore the net for answers yet.
I have used it succesfully a couple of years ago. The only thing is i
went from win98 to xp 6 months ago so may have to update video card
driver. greg

Bit depth for scanning and bit depth for video aren't really the same
thing. At any rate, no, that would not be the problem.
