Epson 1660 photo scanner -- need software

We have an Epson 1660 photo scanner. Lost the install CD.

I've tried the down loads from Epson, no joy. Is there some other software
available that I can access that will allow me to use this scanner?

I have PC XP home and Macbook pro with 10.5 and all the toys.

I don't know what you downloaded from Epson. But Epson has the correct
software for your scanner. There is one version for Windows XP and a
completely different version for Mac.

Be sure you click on the correct OS under Drivers and Downloads.

And be sure you are downloading the correct driver.
For Windows XP Home, you want the TWAIN Driver v5.71A (Rev.F) for Windows
XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows 98

Thanks. I did get it working with XP-home but the application and options
s*ck.

Are there any other applications that will work with this scanner that have
more features and options?

There may be another application that will work.
It is called VueScan.
