DIY hardware for scan and record without computer

I need a diy hardware for record the scanner output directly to memory
card and operate the scanner without a computer.
I dont know how computer communicates with scanner but some say it is
basic.
I want to make a scanner camera and I have no money for to buy mobile
computers.

Thats called a digital camera.
