Hi, bought a 2100m HP printer. Now I need to make sure it will work
with my
beige G3 mac running OS 8.6. Can anyone advise exactly what i need,
(card?) to get it up and running...it is a replacement for my HP 4ML
which
interfaced flawlessly with 8.6 and was simply connected via the G3s
printer
port... It had the old Appletalk serial cable. I'm told the 2100m has
the same,
and is Mac and OS 8.6 compatible but it doesn't come with any
extras....
THANKS for any assistance... We're kinda desperate!
You shouldn't need any "extras" except the serial cable you used on the old printer as few printers are supplied with cables of any kind except one to plug it into the power supply.
If it is Mac compatible it will have a Mac driver included on the CD. The driver allows the printer to communicate with the computer and also gives you an on-screen interface from where you can select all the various print settings.
Once the driver is installed and the printer connected up and switched on you should be be able to print.
