I have been using my Canon BJC 1000 for many years but now have a
problem. I get a popup saying I need an ink cartridge. When this happens
I disconnect the power cord, reconnect and everything works.
The printer likes OEM Canon ink and you probably are not using it. The
firmware is set to choke after a while.

That range of Canon printers, are too old to have chipped Carts, so how
would the Firmware know that Non Canon Carts were in.
