Default Odd problem with Canon PS driver

The problem is that at least one character--Unicode 221A, the radical
sign--does not print from MS Office 2003.

The driver is the most recent win XP postscript driver for the Canon
Imagerunner 5000.

Unicode 221A will print to this driver from a PDF file, but not from an MS
Word or Excel file. It will print without difficulty to the printer's PCL
driver, and also via postscript to an older HP printer.

The error does not crash the print job--there is just a blank where the
character is supposed to be.

This does not seem to be a big deal but we prefer that all of our drivers
work as expected.

I would like to tell Canon about this bug, not for personal tech support but
so that they can (eventually) fix it. But, I can't figure out who to tell.

Does anyone know how I can procede? Or can anyone shed any light on what is
causing this?

Thanks!

Default Re: Odd problem with Canon PS driver

I will bring this to the Windows Printer Group at Microsoft and see if
they have any ideas or suggestions. They also have access to some of
Canon's printer driver people.

No guarantees, but might as well give it a try.

Please contact me at the address below and give me a method to contact
you via email in case other information is required.
