Default Looking for advice on buying new printer

Hello
I've had my Canon I860 for quite a while but I want a new printer. I really
like Canon products but I am open to other suggestions as well. I need the
printer to be capable of printing photos (I have a canon digital camera) as
well as text (all my homework) and I would really like it if the printer had
a scanner (That would really come in handy for me). I'm guessing I'm looking
for a inkjet printer? Thanks for any help.

The i860 is a fine printer, so fine that you may which to look at the
options before you decide to replace it. In the canon line up, text
has NOT improved in newer models. There is at least one canon all in
one printer which would actually be a downgrade from your i860. The
PIXMA MP520 would be somewhat of a downgrade. The mp610 and above
would be an improvement, as well as the mp530.

The mp830 is reasonably priced with a sheet feeder. I can't say i'm
happy with the fax suite, but all I needed it for was to scan to pdf.
It's being phased out to make shelf space for the newer models, but
newer doesn't equal better.
