Default KonicaMinolta MFP biometric option

Superior security and protection. Along with comprehensive security
functions to protect valuable data, the bizhub C550 offers a unique
Biometric Authentication option with "Touch and Print" feature that can
recognize unique physical characteristics of each user - more reliably than
matching fingerprints!

Is this just a sale propaganda?

There was a two page spread in Business Info magazine and apparently it
recognises vein pattern in the finger, so you have to have a 'live'
finger, which is probably overkill for a photocopier, even if you had
the top of the range version and ran 13,000 colour pages through it
before needed to top up the paper.
