Default Ink consumption for Epson 7600

Does anybody have an idea how much it costs to print a 12x16 print on
glossy paper using an Epson 7600 printer with K3 ink?

It is almost impossible to say. It depends on if the printer is always
kept on and what was printed before it or maybe after. Do you include
all of the priming and cleaning as part of the cost of the print or just
the ink on the photo. Furthermore it also depends on how dense the
colors of the photo is. Each one may be different.

Definately more than $1. Even a polarbear in a snowstorm (no ink) costs
more because the paper, assuming it is anything decent, costs more,
unless perhaps if it is roll paper and he gets a very good price on it.

In general, on a quality paper, consider $.75-$1 per Square foot and ink
$1.50-$2 per square foot, if he is using Epson OEM cartridges or better.
Of course, it depends upon how much ink coverage the image demands,
but I would say $3-5 per print would be a reasonable cost on a 12" x 16"
print (and that assumes he gets a good one first time).

I would say about $2 - $3 to print a 12X16 on glossy paper at 2880 dpi
using an Epson 7600 with UltraChrome ink (assuming it is dialed in and
no test prints have to be made).

UltraChrome K3 ink is used on the Epson 7800.

Very few users print on glossy photo paper with the 7600 & UltraChrome
ink because of metamerism, but rather on matte, canvas and fine art
papers.
