HP8250 and MS-Word

About a week ago, my HP850 suddenly stopped printing MS-Word doc
files and now gives me an "out of paper" error message. It still works
well on txt and photos. I've tried reloading the driver and have
installed all the updates to no avail. I am using XP. Does anyone have a
clue?
