On refilling a black 45 cartridge, it worked a bit on my HP6122, but
then quit (flashing yellow drop lite).
An old cure was to swap around 3 cartridges to unseat this jam. But now
this does not work. Another saw was to block certain terminals to reset.
Can someone shed good light on this?

The steps you describe are to reset the ink levels. The printer will print
just fine with a cartridge it thinks is low on ink, but it will not print if
the cartridge has failed electrically. You can open the lid of the printer
and the carriage will move to one of five positions, indicating either all
OK or various error conditions. See http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...n&lang=en#N442
for help in identifying which cartridge is at issue. You may be able to
recover the offending cartridge by cleaning the contacts as shown at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...ectID=bpa02060

Yes, taping contacts or exchanging dummy carts does reset the ink
level. Ultimately, the carts suddenly turn out bad. It could take a
long time or only after a filling or two. It really helps to have
replacements you can throw in to check.

Trot down to Staples and get HP ink.

Better yet if you have a Staples around you visit them and get a new
HP45 from HP

Hi Angelo Campanella
Watch out...measekite is misleading you.
You can not go to Staples and get a new HP45 from HP.
Staples is a dealer for HP...if you go to Staples you can get a new HP
45 FROM STAPLES made by HP. If you want a HP 45 from HP the easiest
way is off HP's website...than it's FROM HP.
The CW ink used for this cartridge is great. And I will cost you less
than Staples and/or HP.

Hi Angelo Campanella Watch out...measekite is misleading you. You can not go to Staples and get a new HP45 from HP.
Do not listen to aftermarket fly by niters who invade this ng for their $$ gains trying to sell you inferior stuff.

The guy is lying to you.

That is a lie.

Of course. Go to your favorite supermarket and buy a hot dog. Eat it. I am sure it went down OK. Now return an buy a porterhouse steak. I am sure that went down fine too but you enjoyed that more. Now the steak cost many times over than the hot dog. The point of it all is that you get what you pay for.
Now if you can get the same grade of porterhouse steak at another market an a lower price then you saved money. When you get aftermarket ink you do not save any money. Yes you spend less and get less. Most of the time you are getting *******.
