HP DVD Printing Problem

I've got a HP C5280 MFP which also has a direct CD/DVD printing
function. I have owned this device since December 2007.

Tonight, for some reason it will not recognise that I have inserted the
DVD tray, it keeps telling me to 'load a printable CD/DVD'

If I open the cartridge access drawer the CD/DVD tray appears to slide
in correctly, if I turn the device off with the CD/DVD tray inserted and
then turn the machine on again the printer draws the CD/DVD tray in as
it would do if it were to print but then ejects it with he message to
'load a printable CD/DVD'.

Has anyone experienced similar.
