I Have an HP 6980 two months old that has been working very well. But
today, the printer lost connection with the PC. I've tried a new cable,
different USB ports, printer hard reset, rebooting, to no avail. I tried to
reinstall the drivers, but in step 2, it says connect printer to your
computer. But the connect does not happen. An off-line test print does
print fine.
It appears to me that the device, the printer, has failed in some fashion.
Any ideas, and tomorrow I am heading off to Staples, the supplier with the
printer. We'll see what Staples will do, if anything.
