Default HP 3015 Copy vertical streaks

When copying I get vertical black streaks.

When printing out a report all is well. The printing when copying is
fine but there are vertical streaks when copying.

Any ideas? I can open up the FAX and do any repairs.

Thanks

Likely a spec of dirt/dust on the scanner sensor or optics.

BArry

I can take it apart and clean the sensor or optics. Maybe somebody
will know how and save me lots of time doing it.

Thanks for the response.

No need to take it apart. Lift up the control panel, I think this one hinges at
the back so you rotate the panel away from you and upwards. There will be a
little resistance. Underneath you will find a glass lens that runs across the
scanner. There will be a deposit of some sort on that glass, it can be very
small. Clean the glass with a non abrasive glass cleaner, if the deposit is
stubborn use a finger nail to remove it (don't be tempted to use anything
harder or you risk scratching the glass).

Apologies, the control panel hinges at the front on this model (just checked).
Rotate the panel upwards and towards the front. While there, clean the white
platen that you can see on the bottom of the panel as well as the glass that is
there.
