HP 2300 Printer

Hi, I have a HP 2300 printer on a network with 70+ users
today its behaving very odd - every print sent to it males it re-set
the default tray and page type/ size and we have to press the tick
button to 'find' another tray (which is normally the default one) and
press it again to print that tray.

any ideas why this is happening all of a sudden


we have not rolled out any updates/made any changes to the network
this week and it worked fine yesterday!

Print a configuration page and check that the tray configurations are correct
for the printer, if not then remove the JetDirect card from the back of the
printer (with power off). This must be done or you will lose the network
settings in the printer.
If the defaults are correct on the configuration page then you need to check
the driver settings in the server, they must match the printer settings.
Perform a cold reset as follows.
1 Turn off the printer.
2 Press and hold (SELECT), and turn on the printer.
3 When all three status lights are lit, release (SELECT).
4 Use (UP arrow) or (DOWN arrow) to scroll to COLD RESET, and press (SELECT).
When the printer has initialised and is ready. Power off and reinstall the
JetDirect card.
Power up the printer and using the printer control panel set all the tray
defaults to match your paper.
