Getting a HP PSC 1410 networked

I've had the HP PSC 1410 connected through USB for a while now.
Recently I've bought a wireless USB print server from LevelOne, trying
to get the printer on my home network, as I only use laptops now.
Setting up the LevelOne print server worked fine, I can now see the
printer from it and it is recognized as HP 1400 Model.

- Now the remaining step would be to add the printer to Windows by
using 'add printer'.
- Choosing the correct network port for my print server,
- it comes to the screen asking to specify the model. This model is
not listed in the standard list, so I should us the CD to have the
drivers loaded.
- I enter the drivers CD, delivered with the HP product, and click
'have disk'. Strangely enough I get 'hp instant share' to choose from,
where I would expect 'HP PSC 1400 series' or alike.
- When clicking 'next', chosing name and click finally 'finish', it
complains the software 'has not passed Windows Logo testing ...'
bladibla.
- I click continue anyway. Then it asks to insert CD 'hp cd' into
drive.
- When clicking ok, I can see it is looking for hpzimc09.dll. I can
find this file online
- downloaded the driver. then continued, but it then says it can't
find hpzstw09.exe ...
- And this file I can't find anywhere, not even on the CD. So I'm
stuck there.

To be clear, I DON'T expect the AIO functions to work over the
network. I only want that thing to print with a decent quality.
Nevermind scanning. And if I want to copy I'll do it on the printer
itself standalone.
Why can't HP provide the correct driver files? Can someone provide a
GOOD alternate print driver that I can download OR is already in the
list? I tried out already a few, of which deskjet 950C and 550C. It
seems I do get a connection that way, but printing a test page fails
horribly. Or if you have another idea?

I've received an update from HP support and AIO's are NOT supported on
a printserver. Unless they're networked themselves. I've brought back
my LevelOne printserver, and the guy there confirmed this. AIO's are
not printers. Most of them (incl PSC 1410) are not able to split the
functions printing/scanner/copier. Hope to help some people with
opening this thread, and save them a lot of headaches

You could try the DeskJet 3420 driver as mentioned in
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...reg_R1002_USEN.
I believe the PSC 1400 series uses the same underlying printer commands as
the PSC 1300 series.
