Default Epson Stylus Photo 1400: opinions please

I'm on the verge of buying the Epson Stylus Photo 1400, but would like
some real-world feedback first... there's lots of reviews, but nothing
about head clogging for instance. I'm ditching my 1280 simply because
the head cleaning doesn't work any more.

Thanks in advance for any info...

Jim

Canon Pro 9000 is a better printer producing better photo prints at a faster speed with more economical ink.

If you want a pigment printer consider the Canon Pro 9500 or the Epson R1800.

Canon has much less an issue with print head clogging.

For the small difference in price from the Epson 1400, I would
recommend the Epson R1800. It's a much better printer and uses
UltraChrome Gloss ink.

Before you ditch the printer, if you have not already done so, request a
copy of my cleaning manual. It is free of charge and you will not be
spammed by me.

It is specifically designed for Epson printers.

I can be reached at:

e-printerhelp(at)mvps(dot)org

(at) = @
(dot) = .

The 1400 uses the new Claria inks, which I have received good feedback
about.

The price differential has reduced. The R1800 uses glossy pigment
inks, and had a hard time with black and white printing. It does best
with glossy images. The color ink set is unique to that printer.

Still a step below the Epson 3800
