Default Epson CX5800F

The printer initializes very slowly and the scan function seems to hang.
Is there a maintenace mode or reset key combination that might restore this
to factory settings?
Thank you.

You might want to check the manual for a reset to default settings. If
none can be found, try unplugging it from the AC for several hours and
try it and see if anything improved. There may be a mechanical or
electronic failure occurring which may be responsible for the slow response.

This is my first Epson.
The manual tells me nothing about resetting default parameters.
On other Epson models I thought I had read something about pressing several
keys along with the power button to get into a service mode.
If this is an Epson way of doing things, I was thinking the same might work
for this model but haven't found the correct key combination yet.
Thank you.

You are correct that the earlier models did have a reset procedure
via the front panel. They may still although it may no longer be
published. I would expect if you were to email Epson they could either
instruct you how to do so, if it is still an option, or at least give
you a list of the defaults to replicate manually.
