I have a couple old 740s, out of which I am pretty sure I can get one
working. In another thread I read of gutenberg drivers- is that the way
to go for old printers on the new Mac OS (leopard, not brand new)?
Related to the 740, might there be a subsitute ink tank in shades of
grey that'd sub for the tri-color tank, and thus get decent B+W prints
(at least they'd have no color cast!)

| At one time there was a Quad tone B&W ink set and drivers available for
| several of the older Epson printers.
|
| The company has changed hands but is still around, but if they make
| drivers for the 740, I'm not sure.

Digging through some old CD I found an OEM install disk for an Epson 740 if
that will help.

Thanks, but I have old drivers already; I am hoping for something
that'll work simply with Leopard.

Thanks, Art. They have 'em for the R300 which I may convert instead, but
I didn't see anything for the 740.
More concerned about driver for Epson 740 that'll work fine with Leopard.

Thanks, I downloaded same recently and have yet to haul out the
printer and try it.
