Default Epson 740 - Mac OS X-

I have a couple old 740s, out of which I am pretty sure I can get one
working. In another thread I read of gutenberg drivers- is that the way
to go for old printers on the new Mac OS (leopard, not brand new)?

Related to the 740, might there be a subsitute ink tank in shades of
grey that'd sub for the tri-color tank, and thus get decent B+W prints
(at least they'd have no color cast!)

At one time there was a Quad tone B&W ink set and drivers available for
several of the older Epson printers.

The company has changed hands but is still around, but if they make
drivers for the 740, I'm not sure.

Digging through some old CD I found an OEM install disk for an Epson 740 if
that will help.

Thanks, but I have old drivers already; I am hoping for something
that'll work simply with Leopard.

Thanks, Art. They have 'em for the R300 which I may convert instead, but
I didn't see anything for the 740.

More concerned about driver for Epson 740 that'll work fine with Leopard.
