Default Brother MFC 9420CN buying advice

Hi,

I would like to buy a Brother MFC 9428 CN Multifunctional.
When I read the specs, it does all I want it to do and more.
Before buying it however, I would like to know if there are people here
having hands-on experience with this device ?
- How is the print & scan quality ?
- What about cost to use it ?
I heard that there might be problems with the
OPC Belt cartridge wearing out fast.
Any experience about this ?

What does an OPC belt cartridge do anyway ?

I would be grate if I could have some comments from people who use this
device for some time to have an idea about how it behaves in real life.
On paper, it looks ideal for my purpose, but a manufacturer will put
emphasis on the strong points of his product and forgets to mention the
less attractive points.

We will now have the obligatory response from Measwhatsit proselytising
for Canon products and summarily and quite erroneously dismissing anything
else as inferior.

Freeware. E-Mail me for details.

.... If at first you don't succeed, give up! No sense in being a bloody
fool about it.

No Canon for me, they don't support Linux.

9420CN works perfectly under Linux according to the Linux printing
organisation.
Brother has specific drivere for Linux on their website.
