I have a Canon Pixma IP5200R printer. How do I get the printer to us
ONLY the black cartridge as the default. It appears to be using a
combination of colors to end up with Black
First if you are using duplex mode you must turn it off. The Pigmented
cart only prints on one side of the page. The second is to get your
defaults from choosing printer from either the control panel or from
Start>>Settings. If you make any changes from an application program ie
File>>Print>>Properties they will only hold for that session.

This will use color ink for servicing, which cannot be avoided with this
model printer. Depending on how often you print the ink used for servicing
may be more than that that actaully hits the paper.
