Any known paper take-up problem withe Kyocera FS-1020D?

There are times when I know why there is partial paper take-up. In these
circumstances someone has removed a sheet and left little bits of paper at
the front, that you can see underneath a transparant peice of plastic (when
print head removed) when you open up the printer flap door at the front.
When you open the paper tray you see that the paper has been taken up from
the tray, but has stopped very shortly afterwards, obviously the pathway
obstructed by small bits of paper.

But, I do sometimes get partial paper take-up and I cannot see any objects
obstructing. I see though some marks on the leading edge of the paper sheet
pretty much dead center.

Anyone know what is causing these marks? Because I think that has something
to do woith the problem. TIA.

If there is a small indent in the leading edge of the paper then there is
definitely an obstruction.
Sometimes you can push the offending peice of paper through using a piece of
stiff card (a piece of a folder works well).
Failing that you may need to take the printer apart to get at the problem.
Most Kyoceras are not too hard to get the covers off. I don't know where you
can get the service manual for this printer but the 1010 manual is available at
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download...a_FS-1010.html
and is free. This is not the same construction as the 1020 but it may help.
