Default Which All-in-one

I just picket up 2 scan-fax-copy printers at a yard sale. Neither has
a working ink cart, and I don't know their history or if they even
work. I only need one working unit. The printers are:

HP OfficeJet V40XI
Lexmark X4270

Which one should I buy ink for first? If both work, which should I
keep? Will either print in black if the color cart is empty or
missing? Can I refill the black cart on either?

Thanks for your input.

Phil

Default Re: Which All-in-one

As a general statement, Lexmark's all-in-one inkjet drivers tend to be
less than desirable in the code, and I would therefore suggest the HP,
unless it is particularly difficult to clean up and get working, or it
is very old.
