Default What OC Speed should I be getting with P5N-E, E4300 and CrucialRendition DDR2 5300 , all at default voltage and intel cooler

I am having stability problem at 2.7GHz when running SP Orthos 2004
after about 10 minutes.

FSB 1200MHz
FSB:Ram unlinked
Memory 667 MHz at 5-4-4-14

CPU temp.: 43 C before computer froze up

Try lowering the multi to 8x and running the fsb at 333mhz

Thanks, it works.

I'll answer my own question, after three days of experimenting.

E4300 at 3.0GHz, 100% stable based on running SP Orthos for 24 hrs
straight while still doing regular computer uasage.

Bios Settings (other settings at motherboard default)
CPU Mulitplier - 9X
FSB - 1333MHz
Ram - 667MHz
Ram timing - 5-4-4-14
CPU voltage - 1.35
Ram voltage - 2.0

-BIOS ver. 401 (original bios)
-Max. CPU temp. 43 C (from ASUS Probe II)with Intel Cooler
-Put small fan on NB heatsink (heat sink seem pretty heat without fan)

I am very happy with the result.
May experiment more with ram speed and timing at some later day.

PS: I had problem with rams in memory slot A1 & A2. Windows crashes all
the time even without overclocking. Put ram in Slot B's and no more
crashes. So don't what's up with that.

Try the memory in A1 and B1 for dual channel. That is the way my P5N32-E SLI
board works. Those are the 1st and 3rd slots from left to right.

My MB is P5N-E SLI not P5N32-E SLI. I am using dual channel 2 stick of
1GB Crucial Rendition DDR2 5300 in slots B1 & B2.

Does anyone have same problem with memory slots A1 & A2 on this MB?

What MB? Retail cooling? What ram?

Look at his subject line. The CPU cooler is likely the Intel cooler that
comes with E4300.

Is that the blue slots or the black slots? I've been reading up on this
mainboard's problems, and see many people that cannot use the blue slots.

http://www.surcouf.com/images/editorial/clubic/00412258'.jpg
In this picture, the blue look very yellow. Must be the lighting!
It appears that B1 & B2 are the two slots ****hest from the CPU.
This is confirmed by this zipped PDF:
http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...sli-insert.zip

http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...-E_SLI_QVL.pdf
On this memory QVL, there are some bizarre gaps in the DIMM
support column, where some memory is supported in a single
module, others are supported in dual channel but not single, and
another works when there are one or four dimms, but not two.
This seems very bizarre.

In order for two DIMMs to run in dual channel, they are placed
in same colored slots. I would presume B1 & B2 to be a single
channel configuration and performance would likely suffer greatly.
