Need Thorough Guide to OCing Q6600 w/ P5KC MB

I am totally new to the concept of overclocking the cpu I've never done
it before but wish to because of the potential of the Q6600 G0 to go to
at least 3GHz I just cant find any guides online, all I get is people
saying well your dram...fswadfhcksd voltages clocks are all too high
and the vdroop? is messed so I just want to know what the heck you guys
are talking about + I do not wish to fry my Q6600 somehow lol.

Read the posts in this newsgroup. Nearly everything you might wish to know
is already in posted in this newsgroup (start looking in messages posted
since about March of 2007.) Overclocking a Q6600 is essentially identical
to overclocking any Core 2 Intel CPU. If you have specific questions you
will need to provide EXACT information on your particular system (CPU,
motherboard manufacturer and model... additional helpful information would
be BIOS manufacturer and version, memory type, manufacturer, and model,
Power Supply capacity, manufacturer and model.

The most important component in a successful overclock is an overclocking
friendly motherboard. If you have an overclocking friendly motherboard, the
motherboard manual should have directions for overclocking.

An Intel CPU (manufactured in the last ten years or so) can NOT be destroyed
by overheating or overclocking.

An Intel CPU CAN be destroyed instantly by raising the CPU core voltage too
high (more than 10% or so.)
