Default thermal storage

I have a greenhouse which gets very hot during the day and gets very
cold at night. I have an idea to fill some plastic drinks bottles with
a phase change material, paint them matt black and stack them in the
greenhouse and so even the temperature throughout the 24 hours.
Any comments and suggestions would be welcome.

Go cheap to test. Use water. It should work pretty good.
