Default Is it worth upgrading my Nvidia graphics card?

I have a GeForce4 MX GPU Video Card and was thinking of upgrading to
one of the following:

ATI Radeon 8500, All-In-Wonder 8500, 9000, 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700,
9800, X300, X600, X700, X800, and X850.
NVIDIA GeForce 2, 2 GTS, 3, 3 Ti, 4, 4 Ti, 4200, 4600, and 4800.
NVIDIA GeForce MX 420, 440, and 460.
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, 55500, 5600, 5700, 5800, 5900, and 5950.
NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5300, and 5900.
NVIDIA GeForce 6200, 6600, and 6800.
NVIDIA Quadro, Quadro2, and Quadro4

My question is, is the improvement in graphics worth the cost of
upgrading to any of these cards?

By the way, this is mainly for The Sims 2

GeForce 2 !

Just kidding. Consider going with a 6600GT or 6800 series card if those are
your choices. A Radeon 9800, X700, X800 or X850 would also be good
upgrades, although they lack Pixel Shader 3.0 support (not a big deal for
Sims 2).

Depends on the rest of the system. What CPU/RAM?

I had the same card, upgraded with a 6800/256mb. Worth every penny.

You could get a first impression of the power of these cards by that
visual chart here:
http://www.tomshardware.com/2003/12/...ii/page13.html

It naturally varies wildly depending for what you use your computer. I
used the link to the Aquamark as I play Aquanox, but you might be more
interested in the other comparative tables on that side.

However I would consider changing the card only if the difference is at
least a 50% increase - less and youŽll probably donŽt even notice it.
