Default 93.71 Drivers vs. newer ones

I have been using the 93.71 drivers since April with no problems.
I was just wondering if newer ones would improve video performance at all.
Or should I go with "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"?
I'm just a casual gamer but would like the best performance possible.

Mobo=Asus AN8-E socket 939 w/ver 1012 BIOS
CPU=Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego o/c to 2.64GHz
Videocard=XFX 7600GT 256 MB
RAM=Corsair XMS 2x1GB
HDD=Seagate 160 MB SATA

Thanks for any input.

R.

On my 7900gtx (all else similar parts) I did see a 10% 3dmark06 speedup
and similar framerate gains in the crysis demo & bioshock & stalker with the
most recent drivers. On older games it won't matter.
