8600GT Card Display Issues

Hi All, I'm getting real frustrated trying to fine tune my nvidia
8600gt card. I'm suffering from several problems;
a) Gaggy, distorted and broken screen resolution towards the bottom of
the screen which comes on suddenly then refreshes when I orbit or move
within the model.
b) when panning into (zooming with the mouse scroller) a part of the
model, the section of the model closest to me vanishes as if a focal
screen obscures that which is most clost. This can occupy as much as
50-65% of the screen.

I've tried all sorts of setting combinations..... ahhhhhhhhhh......

Please help.

When you post something like this it helps if you post more than just the
fact you have an 8600GT card.....trivialities like your OS, driver version,
and the modelling software you are referring to as well as your system
specs. A screen grab posted to a photo sharing site along with this would
help also.
