Default Emachine/ continuous single steady beep!

Emachine T 3092
Hi
My friend bypassed his surge protector and plugged his Machine T3092
directly into the wall receptacle?
Any way last week when he powered ON!
NO screen nothing but a continuous single steady beep!
Phoenix BIOS did not have a code for this?
So I reset the BIOS jumper [ next to the battery] powered ON then OFF;
and replaced the jumper.
Problem solved PC back to normal. {reset the clock}.
Hope this helps.
