I am running Office 2007 Pro SP1 with Vista Ultimate SP1. All applications
work fine but as of only yesterday, sometimes when (see below for WHEN &
how...) I CLOSE down Word by clicking the Red X, having worked on a
document or not, I get a dialog box pop up that says
"Microsoft Word has stopped Working. Windows is searching for a solution to
the problem."
I have to click a "Cancel" button twice more to get Word to close down.
This only started happening yesterday. IT ONLY happens when I open a
document up externally (from inside My Documents or Windows Explorer for
example, which in turn 'opens up Word' and then loads the document). If I
open Word up first, then open up a document from the Office Globe/Open Menu
from within Word itself, this does NOT happen.
Any thoughts on this?? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I often
open up documents using Explorer so this is now driving me nuts!!
Hallo, I have the same problem, also whith Excel an Powerpoint. Until now I
have not found any solution to the problem. Would appreciate help from anyone.
Thanks, Jakob.

Have either of your run the Office Maintenance tool in the Office Tools?
Just curious to what the result would be.

Check for updates for Flash and Java. I was having this problem too and it
disappeared after making these updates (as strange as it may seem).
Good luck
