Default Word 2007 Quick Style List

I have updated the styles in the Quick Style List and set the flag for "new
documents based on this template". If I create a new blank document by
loading Word or by selecting New / Blank document, all works correctly and
the new styles are shown. All OK so far.

If I right click within Windows Explorer and select New / Microsoft Office
Word Document, a zero length .docx file is created. When I open this in
Word the standard Word Quick Style List is shown. To get my own list I have
to select Change Styles / Style Set / Reset to Quick Styles from Template.
Is there any way round this?
