word 2007 list numbering problem

Hi.

Can anyone help. I have problem when trying to add numbered list.
I like the auto correct and in word 2003 everything worked perfectly.
The problem in word 2007 is as follows:

1. aaaaaaaaa
2. aaaaaaaaa
3. aaaaaaaaa

When I try to print this automated list, the print looks like this.

1.1 aaaaaaaaa
2.1 aaaaaaaaa
3.1 aaaaaaaaa

But this is only in print. On screen any print preview I still see only
1. aaaaaaaaa
2. aaaaaaaaa
3. aaaaaaaaa

What is cosing the problem and why is that second number after a dot. I
repeat I use this feature often and like automated numbering.
