Default word 2003 fails to start.

I have XP home SP2 OS with two users on the computer. I have office 2003
professional and everything works fine for one user but fails to open for the
other. It will only open in safe mode. What could be the problem? I have 1792
MB ram memory with 1.26GB available physical memory and a 550 watt power
supply. Why would word start fine for one but not the other? I also don't see
Office in either start up menu but in services, the Office source engine is
running. I have tried defraging, CHKDSK /F, but no difference. Is there a
compatability issue with Adobe 8.0 standard? I have recently installed Quick
Books 2007 and Adobe 8.0 standard.
