All of a sudden, my spell check has stopped working. I can type in
nonsense words, and Word does not underline it as an error, or running
the full word check. It just seems to be ignoring all my text.
Simply highlight the entire document, then under review tab, select
language options.
Click on your language THEN uncheck the 'do not spell check' box.
I updated to Office 2007 from Office 2003. Since then, my spell check does
not work in any Office application. This is terribly unprofessional and I
would appreciate some input on how to regain this vital function.

You should not "piggy-back" your new question to a post that has
already been answered, as folks may assume you're just adding more
comments and not that you are asking a new question...hence your Q
will be ignored.
Sometimes, 2003 -> 2007 upgrades don't properly install the spell
check files. Check your "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\Proof" folder to see if MSSP3EN.LEX and MSSP3ENA.LEX are there.
If not, do a reinstall and make sure the proofing tools are properly
selected to install from Office 2007.
Although, before you go through the install, you'll want to make sure
you have the spelling properly set. Click on Review tab. In the
Proofing group, click the small icon that says Set Language when you
mouse over it. Make sure you have the correct language set and uncheck
the other two options to: *Detect language automatically* and *Do not
check spelling or grammar*...be sure to click the DEFAULT button so
these options are SET from this point forward.
Then also click on Office Button > Word Options > Proofing and check
the option for *Check spelling as you type* and * Check grammar with
spelling* and uncheck the *Hide spelling errors in this document only*
and *Hide grammar errors in this document only* so that any spelling
errors WILL display.
