Default Windows cannot find document that is double clicked. Make sure yo

I am getting error when I open word and excel Office 2007 documents.

Windows cannot find 'C:\...docx' Make sure you typed the name correctly and
then try again.

This is a new Vista Office 2007 installation on a Sony laptop. The same
document can be opened from within Word and Excel. Once document is opened
and closed then it appears that it can open correctly with double click
