Why should I bother to struggle with the new GUI on Word 2007 etc

Tje time I have wasted trying to use Word 2007 and the other Office 2007
products, since the GUI has changed so much from earleir versions, means that
I have now switched to Open Office, and it is a breeze. Firefox is better
than ie7, and for small office use, Thunderbird copes well as the mail
programme. I rejected Vista for the OS on the last desktop PC I bought for
our small business, since XP was still availabel then, but next time it will
be Linux, I am sure. Just why has MS introduced chnages to its GUI on its
Office products which must be causing it to loose business like this?

Why not ask Apple why they changed their entire OS from version 9 to 10?

If you are such a fan of non-Microsoft products, good for you. Now run along. No need to post in a Microsoft Office forum if you don't use Microsoft Office.

I am not asking here about Apple. Surely on the MS postiongs that will be
the most likely place to find an answer to my question. Why have MS
introduced changes that are unhelpful? If it ain't broke, why fix it?

Since you are nothing but a troll, it's doubtful you've even run Office
2007.

'Plonk' still seems to miss the point - it is all very well to assert that
the changes are useful, but there is no analysis of why that assertion might
be correct. Perhaps that is the intellectuual level of MS fans, of course?
But that is another question. So please, if there is soeone out there who
can explain why the changes are worth the time and effort in getting to use,
then i hope they might respond more helpfully.
