my files are stored in alpha order on teh server, but now when I go to open a
file it is not in alpha order, it is in most recently viewed order. How do I
change it back?

What "files" are you speaking of? On "what" server?

And...how are you viewing the files? Via Windows Explorer or an Office
(Word?) application? You can change how the documents are listed by first
using "Detail" view and then clicking on the header of the column you want
to sort on (i.e. if you want to view them alphabetically, click on the
"Name" column header...click it again and it will reverse alphabetize it).

Click "name" header.

Technically speaking, your files are not store in alphabetical order. That
just happens to be the way you prefer to see them sorted.
