Default What have I done with SQL and what is it?

I am running a new PC with XP Pro and Office 2007.
I kept receiving a boot-up error message telling me to Unistall SQLDUMPER
Library was corrupt and had to be uninstalled and reinstalled.
I've uninstalled everthing with SQL in its name by add/remove, but cannot
reinstall it.
I've found what I think is the right download site, but it only ever
installs half the program's components.
It would help if I even knew what SQL was!
As a consequence, it seems to take my fast PC over 5 minutes to get from the
"User log on" page to my desktop.
What can I do please - my knowledge base is very limited!

SQL (Structured Query Language) server/clients are database related.
They are used in a variety of products and programs to organize and maintain data files.

Did you install MS Office Accounting (Express) that comes with Office 2007 Professional (2nd CD)? If so it's possible that it has
become damaged through running a 3rd party utility or another program being installed.

If you have MS Office Accounting installed (or SQLExpress shows in Add/Remove Programs), have you tried doing a repair/reinstall of
MS Office Accounting (if installed)

Thank you Bob for your message.
No, I am running the Trial version and I don't believe Accounting came with
it.
What I did unistall (because it gave me the option to, and was slowing
everything down) was "Contacts Manager" (or something similarly named),
because I did not need it.
Then the "SQL Dumper Library" messages began, so I did what it advised me to
do and unistalled it.
Since then, my PC has moved like a snail. And, I have been unable to find a
find/install a full download of SQl (and don't even know which of the
versions I should be trying to download, to get back to where I was)
I am scared to unistall Ofice and reinstall it again, because I don't want:
a) To lose my settings;
b) lose the data files (e.g PSTs etc... containing email, calendar etc..)
c) am scared I might not be permitted to load a trial version twice, till I
decide if I want to buy a set instead.
Oh what a mess!
All assistance/advice would be much appreciated.

Outlook with business contact manager, perhaps?

Yes - that's the one. Have you by any chance had similar difficulties. Such a
shame, I bought a new PC for speed, I then follow MS' instructions on day 1
and it all goes wrong.
I accept full responsibility however: I should have followed the "If it
ain't broke, leave well alone" mantra!

I dont use OL with contact manager (I didnt install CM), but I think I would
first attempt an Outlook Detect/Repair, and if that failed to rectify the
problem I might be tempted to uninstall Office in its entirety, reboot the
PC, prior to reinstalling Office without Contact Manager
Of course others might have specific reccomendations

Thank you DL.
I have tried detect/re[air to no avail.
As i am currently running a trial version, I am scared that:
1) Were I to uninstal it, I would be unable to eload another trial, till I
decide whether or not to buy the proper one.
2) That I would lose all my setteings and PST files by doing this.
Am i being paranoid?

Data is not changed/lost by an uninstall of Office, though backup of data is
allways wise
You should uninstall any trial prior to installing a retail version.
Purchasing from eg amazon.com is cheaper than the MS online conversion
